You can make your own globe for any day after February 8, 2000.

 

How to make your globe

  1. Select a sheet, and download it
  2. Print the sheet
  3. Cut it out
  4. Glue it on a 8cm diameter polystyrene foam ball

 

How to download a sheet

  1. Access the data folder
  2. Open the year folder. Ex. "2009" for year of 2009.
  3. Select the sheet (30Mbyte). The initial part of the file name is "Year"-"Month"-"Day". Ex. ”2009-01-02_12_00_00.pdf" for January 2, 2009.

 

Data

  • Plasma data over Japan was calculated by Kyoto University using the data of GEONET of Geographical Survey Institute, Japan
  • Cloud image was based on the data of NCEP/CPC 4km Global IR Dataset by the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Project.This data presentation is supported by funding from the NOAA Office of Global Programs for the Global Precipitation Climatology Project (GPCP) and by NASA via TRMM.
  • The data of earthquake epicenters was provided by the US Geological Survey.
  • Blue Marble by NASA’s Earth Observatory was used for the land surface image.
